Why To Use Split System Air Conditioner?

Split System Air Conditioners have mainly two major parts- an indoor unit and outdoor unit. Space which is being cooled, the outdoor unit is fixed near or on the wall of that area. It consists of a capillary tubing comprised of air filter, blower, cooling coil; a compressor and the condenser and expansion coils. Split system air conditioner is a very good alternative to central A/C for the homeowners who want to keep the home cool in the summer days. Other than working as an effective medium to keep the home cooled down, split air conditioner has some other great advantages which should be considered, they are:-

  • Expense v/s Cost:- When you are initially making the purchase, the cost of the regular window type air conditioner is actually much less than the split system air conditioner. The former  is made of two parts and they are installed in a completely different manner than the window type air conditioner. For the installation of the split system air conditioner, the cost is almost 10 times more than the cost required for the installation of a normal window type air conditioner. Though the cost is higher at the initial level, the cost of maintenance and running of the split system air conditioner is actually much less in the long run.
  • Installation:- A split system air conditioner has the perfect name for itself as it actually has two pieces or unit which are needed to make the air conditioner work- a cold unit and a hot unit. These separated units help to make the air conditioning machine work in a more efficient manner- in cooling down the temperature and flowing the cool air through the room and the house. This big advantage is something which is must to be taken into consideration. But we must keep in mind that, the process of installation of a split air conditioner is a very difficult work to do.
Merely resting it on the window is not at all enough. The inside unit and the outdoor condensing unit are attached to each other by ducts and tubes through which the air is transferred. For the installation, you have to cut big holes in the house and to place the outdoor unit on a stable place and then to find an area like a furnace or something else to place the cooling system and where the ducts will be able to work properly.

  • Whole House Cooling:- The duct transports the cool air, not in any particular room or area of a house but it is transported through the whole house. Therefore, because of the ability of the split system air conditioner or cooling down the entire house, it is a better option over a normal window type air conditioner. Therefore the process of cooling is more effective and efficient, making the temperature of each room of equal temperature.
  • Less Expensive Energy Bills:- Since the entire house can be cooled down with a single split system air conditioner, you won’t need separate air conditioners for separate rooms working simultaneously. Just you need to attach one thermostat with the air conditioner through which the cooling system will be both turned on and off. Eventually, it will lead to personal savings as the cost of the energy bills will be lowered especially during the summer time.

Like all the other things, a split system air conditioner has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this case, the advantages are stronger mainly the two features- efficient cooling and savings. No matter how much care has to be taken of it, it is becoming more popular day by day for its advantages.
